1) "Cancer" is non-count. I'm sure about this one. I'd have really bad luck to have "cancers". That would be stomach cancer plus another type of cancer, soft-tissue cancer plus some other type of cancer, you get the picture. We say, you have "cancer".

2) "terminal" means that the illness will kill you, necessarily. They don't often say "terminal cancer", but you will hear "terminal disease", as in "he has a terminal disease" which means it will be his end. Especially in Korea, where people seem to think cancer should be curable with 되장찌게 and willpower alone (my American relatives are more clinical -- scientific, aware of what a 불치병 really is). Well, I'm rambling. My second point is just don't say "he has terminal cancer" say rather "he has stage 4 cancer" which means it has metastasized (gone outside its original location to a distant location).

patent specs have their own language and the office asked me to look over a case and inform you what that means. I realize you have no idea about this stuff at this point, that's why this email.
You are over-correcting stuff that should just be left alone. Here is a list of them. You can trust 95% of the people in the office to get this stuff right.

1. cannot change the invention title (unless it is also incorrect in the first paragraph of the body of the invention; sometimes they will put in a bad title, but will properly refer to it in the first paragraph of the body)
2. summary of the invention is the required title for the section

Legal terms and contracts
1. Korean public generally is less exposed to legal terms in normal speech, so they have a harder time understanding the concepts behind arrest and trials (civil procedure). Well, here are a few legal terms behind arrest, prosecution, etc.

To accuse sb of a crime
Arrest sb for sth
What is a coerced confession?
The 2 factors needed to become a lawyer (to practice law)
To charge sb with sth
To have a legal dispute
To breach a contract (contract law)
A legally binding contract
What can you prosecute sb with?
What is a grand jury?
What is a statue of limitations?
